FIREPLACE POETRY

In 2023 I went through a process called “Therapy”. Almost immediately, this process made me realize I had a lot of unresolved resentment and pain from a season that happened almost a decade prior. Toward the end of 2023, I wrote out my testimony for the first time and felt like God was telling me to share it. At the time, I had no clue what that meant so just decide to email the church who played a huge part in it. A week later, I was in complete shock and literally couldn’t believe what was happening. Why? Because the church I had reached out to, called me and said they wanted to use my testimony in their online New Years Eve service.

In that moment, I felt like I was on the mountain top with God. I was in such awe of how everything transpired and thought 2024 was going to be my year of “Breakthrough”. Shortly after watching the message be prerecorded, I started to feel a swarm of different emotions. Instead of being excited about the message, I felt fear, embarrassment and instead of thinking about how it could impact others, I thought about how it could potentially impact me (both negative and positive).

Fast forward to 2024, I felt like I was in a constant refinement process. Instead of having a year of break-through, I felt like I was being broken down and built back up…..over and over again. In 2024, I was put back in the Fire because that is where I needed to be – especially, if I genuinely wanted to be used by God. Why? Because if you want to be used by God, you have to be willing to be refined by God. As we learned in yesterdays post, In order to be truly refined by God… YOU HAVE TO BE FULLY SURRENDERED.

I encourage you to embrace the season God has you in – even if it’s nothing like you thought it would be. Whether you believe it or not, God has a plan for your life.
