Well hello – officially! I go by Alex but my legal name is Alexandra. Alexandra is a Greek name that means “Defender of Mankind”.
Growing up, I only heard the name Alexandra if I was in trouble or something was VERY wrong. I have always liked my name but it does come with some challenges since it is very gender neutral.
In my traditional 8-5 job, my email signature now says Alexandra because people would refer to me as Mr. Garvin or Alexander when it read “Alex”.
