When something breaks, what do you do?
If my car breaks down, I know to take it to a mechanic. If my phone quits working, I know to take it to Apple. If I have a hole in my roof, I know to call a roofer. But what do you do when “YOU” are broken?
Most of the time, instead of us fixing the problem or even acknowledging we need help, we neglect ourselves – thus allowing our wounds to turn into scares. As time goes on, we try to forget the issues but later realize – Trauma is like a boomerang. Unless you truly deal with it, IT WILL ALWAYS COME BACK.
Also,
What is not transformed, is ALWAYS transferred.
When I heard that for the first time, I felt like I had just been punched in the stomach. Why? Because…. If I don’t do the hard work and deal with my crap once and for all –
I could be the reason for generational pain.
I could be the reason for my daughter being emotionally unstable.
I could be the reason for my daughters insecurity.
I could be the reason my daughter struggles with certain issues.
The more I thought of my issues being transferred, the more I knew I needed to change and put in the work.
So what now? What do you do when “YOU” are broken? What do you do after you’ve done the (3) steps shared last week?
ANSWER: GO TO THE MANUFACTURE
When a physical object of ours breaks, we immediately know to take it to the manufacture yet when a person breaks, we don’t. All the sudden instead of going to God with our issues, we go to people who don’t really “heal” us but simply “distract” us.
Looking back at my own journey, I have learned that the only way you will ever be the BEST version of you, is if you let the one who created you – TRANSFORM YOU. The only way you will truly heal from your trauma or pain is if you let the manufacture of your heart, do a factory reset.
Yes, therapy is a good tool that can help you – but a therapist can’t heal you because they did not create you!
So what is the next step?
Simple – Let go, and let God!
Instead of running to the world with your issues, I’m asking you this week to run to him. Tell him what’s on your heart and ask him to heal the parts of you that only he can. I know it may feel weird at first, but looking back at my journey, I was only able to grow through what I went through because of HIM.
Even though I turned my back on him, he never turned his back on me. Even though I doubted him, HE never doubted me. Even though I shut the door in his face SO MANY times, HE continued to knock. EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK ME A DECADE TO FULLY SURRENDER MY LIFE…. HE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME! Even when I ran from HIM, HE left the 99 to find me!
IF HE’S DONE IT FOR ME, I AM CONFIDENT HE’LL DO IT FOR YOU!
In closing, I want you to know that if you need prayer or even just need a support system during your healing process, PLEASE REACH OUT BELOW. I remember what it feels like to feel completely alone during this process and want you to know I AM HERE FOR YOU!
Also, if you haven’t read last weeks post, be sure to read and follow the steps! Your best days are right in front of you – If you put in the work!
