FIREPLACE POETRY

I almost walked away

I almost hit delete

then I was reminded

to slow down and just breathe.

Instead of giving up

and throwing it all away

I remembered my “why”

and realized I had more to say.

This life is crazy

there is chaos all around

but there is a God who loves you

who can silence the sounds.

The sounds of darkness

that whisper in your ear

that tell you to give up

and seem to strengthen your fear.

He has power over that

and designed that power to live in you

He’s the God of the Universe

and wants a relationship with you too.

I wish you knew my story

I wish you saw my past

because then you would realize

my Christianity isn’t a mask.

The God of the Universe

changed me from the inside out

He loves me through my questions

He loved me through my doubt.
