She’s there again, the locker squeaks,
His laugh spills like sunlight across her cheek.
Notes tucked in books, fingers brushing hands,
The world shrinks to the space where he stands.
Her heart beats fast, a secret drum,
Every glance a spark, every smile, a sun.
Back then, he was everything, the only truth she knew,
And the air smelled of possibility and something new.
If only she could tell that girl in the past,
That first love burns bright but never lasts.
Yet she lingers in the echo, soft and sweet,
In that hallway where memory and heartbeat meet.
