There’s something deeply personal about the word faithful. It’s not just a nice church word—it’s a lived experience. It’s the quiet truth you discover not when life is easy, but when it feels unbearable.
I’ve learned this firsthand: God is faithful in every single season—especially the ones where you feel forgotten.
There was a season in my life that lasted over a year where I begged God for breakthrough. I prayed. I fasted. I cried. I journaled. I worshiped through tears. Some nights I cried myself to sleep because nothing seemed to change. I honestly wondered if God was mad at me… or worse, if He just didn’t care.
I believed in God, but I didn’t understand His timing.
I believed He could, but I wasn’t sure He would.
And yet—here I am today, sitting in the very miracle I once thought would never come.
Not just in one area, but in more than I could’ve imagined.
Looking back, I realize something that changed everything:
God wasn’t withholding from me—He was preparing me.
When God Feels Silent, He Is Still Working
One of the hardest truths about faith is this: God’s silence is not His absence.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
There were moments I felt crushed. Moments I felt unseen. But Scripture reminds us that God is closest in those very moments.
Just because God isn’t doing something yet does not mean He won’t.
It often means it’s simply not the right timing.
And timing matters—because sometimes the thing we’re asking for would actually break us if we received it too soon.
I can see now: if God had answered my prayer when I wanted, I would not have been emotionally, spiritually, or mentally strong enough to carry it. What I thought was delay was actually protection.
God Has Always Been Faithful (We Just Forget the Stories)
The Bible is filled with people who waited, doubted, cried, and questioned—just like us.
Joseph: Forgotten Before Fulfilled
Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and imprisoned for years.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
— Genesis 50:20
What looked like delay was actually divine positioning.
Abraham: Promised Before Provided
Abraham waited 25 years for the son God promised him.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise… He is patient with you.”
— 2 Peter 3:9
God didn’t forget. He fulfilled—right on time.
David: Anointed Before Appointed
David was anointed king, but didn’t step into the role for years.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
— Psalm 27:14
God builds character in the waiting.
What I Learned in My Waiting Season
That year I cried out to God taught me things no miracle ever could:
- I learned how to trust when I couldn’t see.
- I learned how to worship without answers.
- I learned that my identity isn’t tied to outcomes.
- I learned that God’s “not yet” is still love.
And now, sitting in the breakthrough, I realize something profound:
The waiting didn’t mean God wasn’t listening.
It meant He was loving me too much to rush me.
If You’re in a Hard Season Right Now
Please hear this:
God sees you.
God hears you.
God has not abandoned you.
“For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
Your prayers are not bouncing off the ceiling.
Your tears are not wasted.
Your story is not over.
You are not being punished—you are being prepared.
From My Heart to Yours
If you’re reading this and thinking, “This is me. I’m tired. I’m waiting. I’m hurting,” I want you to know something:
You’re not alone.
And you don’t have to carry it by yourself.
Fireplace Poetry is more than a poetry blog.
It’s a place for real people, real struggles, and real prayer.
If you need prayer—reach out. There are people here who will truly pray for you, not just say they will.
Because sometimes the greatest miracle isn’t the breakthrough itself…
It’s realizing that God never left you in the waiting.
And one day—sooner than you think—you’ll look back and say:
“Now I see why I had to wait.”
